Course work will consist of a combination of classroom and & online learning. There are no exams and results will be based on assignments you complete throughout the year.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
On successful completion of each component, you will be awarded a Pass, a Merit, or a Distinction grade.
WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FROM YOU?
If you are interested in working in a shop, an office or hotel reception desk, this course will help you develop the skills and self-confidence to take on that challenge. Customer Service, Computer Applications and Retail Sales modules have been chosen because they teach the skills valued by potential employers for these type of public-facing roles.
CAREER / PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to hotel work, students will be prepared for employment in any of the varied shops (e.g fashion, DIY, electronics, furniture) that exist in the retail sector. Students can also progress to one of many QQI Level 5 courses in Business or Tourism offered at Cathal Brugha FET.

Everyone in receipt of a social welfare payment is entitled to apply for this course.
